The Prestashop Data Layer Addon from TAGGRS allows you to easily send (e-commerce) data such as purchases, prices and shipping costs to Google Tag Manager (GTM). Manual coding is no longer necessary; with a few steps you have a working Data Layer for your Prestashop store.

What is a Data Layer?

A Data Layer is a structure that collects data, such as:

  • Products sold
  • Prices
  • Shipping costs

This data is used by Google Tag Manager to forward information to platforms such as Google Analytics 4 (GA4) and Facebook Pixel.

Installation process Prestashop Data Layer Addon from TAGGRS

1. Open module management

Log in to your Prestashop dashboard. In the sidebar, go to Modules and click Module Management.

2. Upload TAGGRS module.

Click the upload module button in the upper right corner. Drag and drop the .zip file of the module into the window that appears.

3. Configure

After uploading, click Configure to go to the TAGGRS module settings.

4. Fill in fields

Fill in the following fields:

- Tag Manager code: enter your Google Tag Manager web container account code (ID) (for example, GTM-XXXXXX).

You can find this code within your Google Tag Manager web container:

- TAGGRS URL: Are you using TAGGRS' enhanced tracking script? Then enter your TAGGRS subdomain here. If you don't want to use this one. Then enter www.googletagmanager.com.

5. Clear Cache:

If you use caching, clear the cache. Go to Advanced Settings > Performance and click Empty Cache.

6. Data Layer Testing in Google Tag Manager

1. Open the preview mode in Google Tag Manager.

2. Verify that all events are displayed correctly in the Data Layer.
